About
The
Epsilon Eta
Chapter:
The Florida Epsilon Eta Chapter, was founded on March 7th, 1995, by a brotherhood of 13; at what was then known as Saint Leo College. In our seven years on campus, we have witnessed the metamorphosis of our college into a university and the addition of many brothers to our chapter.
What You Should Know About Fraternities:
A College Fraternity is a Brotherhood:
A group of men with common ideals and goals, banded together for self-improvement, teamwork, and lifelong friendship - that's a fraternity.
Fraternities like Pi Lambda Phi can help you get the most of your college experience with leadership challenges, community service, academics, interpersonal skills, and social activities.
Most people immediate associate the word "social" with fraternities. The social aspects of fraternities make them fun - activities, mixers, and parties are all part of fraternity life.
But where fraternity brothers discover real growth is in social interaction: getting along with others, adjustment to chapter life, the importance of group welfare, practical leadership, management experience, and personal character development.
Be wary of sweeping criticism of fraternities! If not completely false, they tend to exaggerate or stretch the truth, as do most stereotypes. Fraternities have a rich and honorable tradition in university life, and will continue to prove a definite and constructive place in the academic world.
Fraternities encourage superior scholarship, increase your chance of graduating, inspire higher standards of conduct, create a sense of belonging, and instill good citizenship.
Pi Lam Enhances your College Social Experience:
Pi Lam provides a healthy environment for recreation and social life. Parties, socials, formals, and alumni functions can all be highlights of every semester's activities.
Pi Lam Encourages Inclusion:
Pi Lambda Phi was the first non-sectarian fraternity. In 1895, the founders of Pi Lam boldly foresaw a fraternity where neither sect nor creed would bar a man from joining. As stated in the Creed, Pi Lambda Phi has become a living example against the tendency of society to discriminate.
Pi Lam Offers Strength Through Diversity:
Contrary to popular belief, all fraternities are not the same. We pride ourselves on our diversity. Our brothers aren't all stamped from the same mold. We have different strengths and unique abilities to offer, yet we share common goals.
Pi Lam Builds a Winning Attitude:
You'll find that participating in intramural sports, including football, basketball, softball, and soccer, is a great way to meet other students. Pi Lams share a competitive spirit and teamwork that sets us apart from other fraternities.
Pi Lam Offers Scholarships and Internships:
The Pi Lambda Phi Educational Foundation offers a number of scholarships to qualified candidates every year. In addition, there is an internship program where members can gain valuable professional experience.
Pi Lam Builds Leadership:
Membership in Pi Lambda Phi is one of the best ways to get involved at college. Our brothers play a major role in many aspects of leadership on campus. No matter what your major, Pi Lam will prepare you for the present, while setting you on the right path for success in all that you do in the future.
Pi Lam has a proud tradition:
Pi Lam opens the door of opportunity, provides a place you can call your own, and gives you a chance to make friends with similar interests. As an undergraduate, you'll find the advantages of having a group of brothers to lean on for support, friendship, and advice.
Over 40,000 men have joined Pi Lambda Phi since it was founded. When you graduate, you'll have an instant network of contacts that can help you with your future plans and even professional contacts.
